Today, Burnett Park continues to be a community asset boasting several lighted baseball, softball, tennis, and basketball courts in addition to a community center, concession stand, bleachers, playscape, and ample parking. The acquisition of the 4.61 acreage in 1994 lead to the construction of two new baseball diamonds. New residential developments are planned as part of Burnett Parks landscape. a href#>More »/a> /td> td rowspan2> img srcimages/jacksonville_04.png width57 height194 alt>/td> /tr> tr> td> img srcimages/jacksonville_05.png width432 height50 alt>/td> /tr>/table>/td>/tr>tr>td width842 alignright>table idTable_01 width792 height288 border0 cellpadding0 cellspacing0> tr> td colspan3> img srcimages/fortworth_01.png width792 height88 alt>/td> /tr> tr> td rowspan2> img srcimages/fortworth_02.png width302 height200 alt>/td> td width446 height150 bgcolorffffff> font size2 facegeorgia color222244> In 1919, S. B. Burnett donated some of his downtown Fort Worth acreage to create an urban park that would memorialize his two children. Today, Fort Worths Burnett Park is a pristine tree-lined plaza that once housed Henry Matisses bronze The Backs sculptures and now features Jonathan Borofskys Man With a Briefcase. In May of 2010, the park will come alive with a planned series of concerts, movies, and other events at the park. In the shadows of Fort Worths tallest building, Burnett Plaza, Burnett Park was the setting for a memorable scene of CBSs Walker, Texas Ranger starring Chuck Norris. a href#>More »/a> /td> td rowspan2> img srcimages/fortworth_04.png width44 height200 alt>/td> /tr> tr> td> img srcimages/fortworth_05.png width446 height50 alt>/td> /tr>/table>/td>/tr>Tr>td>table idTable_01 width792 height288 border0 cellpadding0 cellspacing0> tr> td colspan3> img srcimages/highpoint_01.png width792 height97 alt>/td> /tr> tr> td rowspan2> img srcimages/highpoint_02.png width307 height191 alt>/td> td width439 height133 bgcolorffffff>font size2 facegeorgia color222244> Burnett Park in High Point, North Carolina is part of the Piedmont Environmental Center which Features 375 acres of hiking trails adjacent to High Point City Lake, a nature preserve, a nature store, small animal exhibits, and access to 8 miles of greenway trails, linear parks of land left in a natural state that provide an enjoyable course for walking, jogging, biking, and skating.
