Interaction - The various types and methods by which interaction is supported in formal education, especially student-student, student-content and student-teacher interactions. We look especially at the capacity to substitute one form of interaction for another based on funding, time subject and context. As background reading please read:/p>ul>li>Anderson, T. (2003). Finally, the presentation will look at the various challenges associated with outsourcing and/or decoupling some of the many services (including interaction options) that define typical full meal deal higher education institutions of the current and traditional higher education model. week35/p>/p>/p>h3>Resources/h3>p>/p>p>/p>p>div stylefloat:right;margin:10px;>script srchttp://widgets.twimg.com/j/2/widget.js>/script>script>new TWTR.Widget({ version: 2, type: search, search: #change11, interval: 300000, title: Change 2011, subject: MOOC, width: 250, height: 300, theme: { shell: { background: #7c6b59, color: #ffffff }, tweets: { background: #ffffff, color: #444444, links: #1985b5 } }, features: { scrollbar: true, loop: true, live: true, hashtags: true, timestamp: true, avatars: true, toptweets: false, behavior: default }}).render().start();/script>/div>h2>About this Course/h2>p>a href/cgi-bin/login.cgi?actionRegister>To Register for this Course, Click Here!/a>/p>p>Being connected changes learning. When those connections are global, the experience of knowledge development is dramatically altered as well. Over the past four years, a growing number of educators have started experimenting with the teaching and learning process in order to answer critical questions: How does learning change when formal boundaries are reduced? What is the future of learning? What role with educators play in this future? What types of institutions does society need to respond to hyper-growth of knowledge and rapid dissemination of information? How do the roles of learners and educators change when knowledge is ubiquitous?p>Experimenting with answers to these questions has produced what is now called massive open online courses or MOOCs. Three of us - George Siemens, Stephen Downes, and Dave Cormier - have had over 10,000 participants in the various courses weve run since 2008. The learning experience has been terrific. Weve refined our pedagogical approaches, improved the software (well, actually, just Stephen did that), and developed a research agenda around learning in networks in open online courses. p>Weve always been a bit uncomfortable being the sole facilitators of open courses - knowledge, after all, is networked. To grow knowledge is to grow connectedness and diversity. p>So we decided to lean on a few colleagues to help run a unique course experience. End result: a MOOC with each week being facilitated by an innovative thinker, researcher, and scholar. Over 30 of them. From 11 different countries. The draft a hrefhttps://spreadsheets2.google.com/ccc?authkeyCPSOtI4C&hlen&keytbZJJJ4brzDy9xtAtREQDZw&hlen&authkeyCPSOtI4C#gid0>schedule is available here/a>. Were excited about the prospect of a global learning experience. We encourage participants to write themselves into the course by setting up sub-group, networks, and personal spaces for interaction and dialogue.p>If you are interested in joining, please a href/cgi-bin/login.cgi?refer/cgi-bin/admin.cgi&actionRegister>register for the course/a>. We will be posting more information over the next few months./p> /div> /div> /div>/div>!-- FOOTER: Site footer for links, copyright, etc. -->div idfooter> div idwidth> span classfloatLeft>a rellicense hrefhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0/>img altCreative Commons License styleborder-width:0 srchttp://i.creativecommons.org/l/by-nc-sa/3.0/88x31.png />/a>. /span> span classfloatRight>p>Copyright 2011 Stephen Downes, George Siemens, Dave Cormier ~ Contact: a hrefmailto:stephen@downes.ca>stephen@downes.ca/a>br />This page generated by a hrefhttp://grsshopper.downes.ca>gRSShopper/a>. /p> /span> /div>/div>/body>/html>
