Late Antiquity refers to a period beginning in the Fourth and Fifth Centuries following the end of Roman control of Western Europe. In geographical terms Late Antiquity is centered on Europe, North Africa and Western Asia. There is no specific end date of Late Antiquity. This is due to the fact that this is such a formative period, in the formation of empires, cultures and religions; many of which continue strongly into the present day. When looking at the East Roman Empire centred on Constantinople, there is no clear breaking point between Late Antiquity and the Medieval Period, however for practicality most studies into Late Antiquity only continue to the Eighth, Ninth or even Tenth Centuries. /div>div classbox-inside>Copyright Late Antiquity 2019/div>/div>/div>/body>/html>
