The site was a byproduct of a print publication called, “The Outdoors Alaska Directory of Hunting and Fishing”. The original site included many pages of information about outdoor activities in Alaska, particularly hunting and fishing. Forums were soon added, and the site took off like a rocket, quickly rising to become the largest website on the Internet focused exclusively on the Alaska outdoors./p>p>In 2009 the site transferred to Michael Strahan, who had been a major forum contributor to the site for several years. Under Michael’s leadership, the site went through a complete overhaul, a process which continues every year as new pages are added, legacy pages are rewritten and incorporated into the new site and new components and functionality are added./p>p>But let’s not forget our roots!
